How it Works
Light is misunderstood and the most overlooked part of
the health equation.
Using a Red Light Wellbeing device you can safely and effectively help stimulate cellular healing, muscle recovery, and collagen production—while reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines to improve radiance, elasticity, and firmness.
Light therapy is cutting-edge technology first used by NASA and then clinical professionals to support the skin’s natural healing processes. Safe visible and infrared light wavelengths penetrate the skin, stimulating natural metabolic events that increase collagen production, reduce inflammation, increase cellular energy production and improve skin tone and texture.
Light wavelengths from 680nm to 880nm have been found to travel through skin and muscle tissue, to prompt tissue and deep wound healing. Molecules that absorb light are found in your mitochondria. Mitochondria, found in most cells, can be considered the power generators of the cell, converting oxygen and nutrients into cellular energy ATP (adenosine triphosphate).
ATP is the fuel your cells need for all of their varied functions, including metabolism. The light absorbing molecule is the last step before the ATP is finally produced in the mitochondria.
Absorbed light in a wavelength range between 670 nm and 850 nm is able to boost energy production, especially in cells when energy production is depleted. While you can survive for several minutes without oxygen, were all ATP production to suddenly stop, you’d die within 15 seconds.
Not all wavelengths of red and infrared light are optimally absorbed by the mitochondria. By targeting the LEDs towards a few very therapeutic wavelengths, maximal absorption is accomplished.
LED therapy vs Low level Laser Therapy
Ongoing research in pain management indicates LED PBT generally outperforms low-level laser therapy (LLLT) for a variety of reasons, such as providing a per-session treatment area 300X that of a laser probe (for example, the ability to treat an entire muscle at one time) and by offering stimulation of the action spectra of CCO one hundred times more broadly than a laser. Nasa research into LED reported an improvement of greater than 40 percent in musculoskeletal training injuries and decreased wound healing time in Navy SEAL team members.
